Help me out with my 240sx purchase?
Hi im buying a used 1990 nissan 240sx and the engine has been swapped sr20det it has a few mods:
-No AC
-gutted
-Walbor 255 fuel pump
-Megan adjustable coilovers
-Megan strut bars (front and back)
-Megan pulleys
-Nismo power brace
-Nismo thermostat
-Nismo coolant cap
-Greddy turbo gauge
-Greddy oil pressure gauge
-Greddy exhaust temp gauge
-Apexi catback exhaust
-Power Enterprise air impulse 2 intake
-Drilled rotors
-Aftermarket intercooler and pipings
-Radiator cooling plate
-Aftermarket oil catch can
-New OEM oil pump
-Electric fan
-New belts
-New NGK spark plugs
-New battery and it was relocated to the back
-Aftermarket 2-way LSD
it has 180k on the body and 55k on the engine says the seller
im gonna have it checked out by my mechanic this week to see if everything is good…
are there any problems you could suggest that i look out for?
gonna use it as a daily driver
got the price down to 4k
I would be very careful with this car purchase, because nowadays a stock 240sx is going for about $2000. And then an sr20det for about $2500. Then all of the other modifications, the Apexi exhaust (~$450?) and the Megan Racing coilovers ($900), and the aftermarket 2 way LSD which is about $900. That right there is way over $4000, and not that I think it can’t happen, I just don’t think it’s that probable. Definitely be careful and take it to a trusted mechanic.
